The responsibility of the Substitute teacher is to provide coverage for absent contracted teachers. In most cases; they would have earned at least the minimum of 60 college credits. And possess the skills to manage any particular class for short or long term positions. The Substitute teacher will have basic understanding of elementary education. The Substitute has the ability to handle daily classroom routines. The Substitute is thorough in classroom management and in-school rules, regulations, and district policies which includes but not limited to emergency procedures. A Substitute is willing to work hard and take initiative to assure a regular daily school schedule is complete.
